The Muddy Dahlia is a mixed-media artist and writer who loves a bit (actually a lot) of observing the weird and odd occurring in everyday life, mashing up genres and eras, and mischief.

Our nervous systems are overstimulated and exhausted. We need a reset. We need true connection, not performative connection. We need reality and not the illusion of perfection.
We need to get messy in the garden and HEAL!

The Muddy Dahlia Ethos
A key piece of health, wellness, and mindfulness is missing: the darkness that balances the light. The acknowledgment of experiences and words we have let shape our lives. The acknowledgment that two things exist at the same time.
Light – Dark. Pain – Humor. Love – Hate.
The acknowledgment that, even with the beauty of health, wellness, and mindfulness, something critical is missing. We need the snark to balance the sage. We need the B-side of darkness to balance the more palatable single.
Life is Messy. Growth Takes Time. Enjoy the Journey.

Inspired by The Walk For Peace, I wanted to create a booklet to help reset our nervous systems. Something simple to provide a tactile experience away from the noise and chaos of our electronic devices.
Then it grew… different textures to provide an immersive tactile experience. Delicately bound to provide an invitation to slow down. A journey to give voice and acknowledgment to your inner pain and joys.
And grew some more… the content felt special, meaningful, and needed in our current world. How could I provide this creation (/ art offering) to more people?
